Sometimes I have the feeling we all live in the Matrix. A complexed constructed world of make belief, and history or all events that took place, or are talking place today, are just lies and food for us fools. Let's have a look of what is going on in Europe nowdays. We have the EU, an ever expanding "Empire" as some wish to call it, a nice, romantic idea that was conceived after WW2 to bring peace in Europe and blah blah blah....If it was ever conceived then or just got the chance to be materialised at just the right time. Several countries are in it, more want to join but some do not. All rich smaller countries are out, all the tax havens of Europe, secured from the control of the EU, securing all the rich people's money. Switzerland is out as well..the banking country.Ttheir long tradition of banking and their secrecy policy of banking makes them a safe haven for all governments, ultra rich, societies, secret socities, lobbies, criminals, to secure their cash while people, like in Africa are starving. Iis it by chance, or just a joke that even the flag of Switzerland and their link to the red cross brings to my mind another red cross of the past, centuries ago, when some other successful "businessmen" or knights of that time created and put the base of what we know today as banking? Isn't it obvious why some do not want Switzerland ever to get EU accession?
And how about the North? Norway ,Iceland and now even Greenland after it being increasingly independent from Denmark, are not in the EU, and while clmate change frees more and more lands over there in the North, the main players are Russia and North America (USA and Canada), while Europe is only represented by small states like Greenland, Iceland and Norway? Wouldn't it make sence for those states to be in the EU and have full support of all the continent against giants like Russia and America? What chances do Norway and Greenland have against them in managing the North, without the support and cover of European powers like the UK, France and Germany? As if some do not want Europe to have an influence there... And Turkey..? Why is it pushed in the EU by the British and the Americans so much, while the French and the Germans oppose it.? If you think that it is about Islam you are deluding yourselves. Some want to shift the balance of power to their benefit, some want to keep it as it is. The Anglosaxons want to shift it to their favour, the Franco-germans want to keep it as it is. And their allies are taking positions accordingly. Also, Turkey used to have and still has great connections with the Jewry, and their relations today with both Israel and the USA are perfect. Why? Thessaloniki again, and it's jewish population, some of them the ma'amin, Islamised jews from Iberia, played a huge role in Thesaloniki's political life and that of the Ottoman Empire and modern day Turkey. Is that what is all abou? To bring another member of a long lost family back? Turkey had always had aspirations in Europe, and the ma'amins where one of the driving forces behind it. Let's have a look at the Balkans, an area of immediate interest. Since the Balkan wars, the great powers of Europe have meddled with the creation of all states down there. The Ottomans where desperate in holding European lands, while the powers wanted to oust them, but they did not wish some regions to fall under the rule of either Bulgaria,or Turkey, or Greece. You probably figured out what region I am talking about. The city of Thessaloniki wanted by even the Austrian Crown, because of it's location and importance, and many even suggested they should march down to get it before either Greece or Bulgaria did. They failed. The Jews that resided in the city wanted to keep it independent too, or at least under Ottoman rule because their interests were better secured with the Ottomans and they could continue profiting and ruling the city with no disturbance from any new national states emerging. Turkey still has huge interests in the region, since there is a big muslim population in the Balkans, in Albania, the fYRoM, Bosnia, Kossovo and Bulgaria. The only obstacle is Greece. All the above led to many problems in the region even today, the break up of Yugoslavia for one..why Yugolavia didn't break up peacefully, like Czechoslovakia did? Why is it more important to some? Because I do not believe for one moment that they were so stupid as to mess the whole thing up. We know for example that espionage and agents play a huge role in politics. It was revealed that Mussolini was a british agent during WW1, only to fight against them few decades later. And the Taliban were assisted by Americans against the Russians, in fact they were put there by them, only now to be danger number 1 for them. Same goes for Sadam Hussein and Co. Yet our soldiers are dying over there and for what? Oil? Is that all? And there are nutters that support all those wars, and want a "European Empire", to conquer and dominate the whole world. Hasn't Europe dominated the world enough? Can't we see the price we are paying for our leaders' lust (or should I say those who give the orders to our leaders) for dominance and power? We keep poor countries down, and keep them poor and then we have to accept masses of immigrants into our lands, to compensate for not allowing them to prosper. And who is behind all this? Have a look and you will find few familiar names or groups. We complain about immigration but we are being ignored. Why? Because the interests of some are above the wishes of any people, any nation. To them we are just workers. They slice and cut and chop and make deals and change their plans, and change their alliances as it suits them. No wonder the great powers of Europe, notably France and the UK supported the Greeks and gave their blessing in their Asia minor expedition, only later to betray them and let them down, watching from their ships in Smyrna people being butchered but without running their assistance. Do you ever think that you are an independent nation? That your rulers are those who trully govern our country? That your vote counts? Besides, opinions can be so easily manipulated by the media that people even vote what they want them to vote and then pass it as their own democratic choice. From what I have experienced here in Ireland during the two referendums I saw that happening. I would not be suprised one bit that the loss of the first referendum was scheduled and the winning of the second came only after certain things were secured. And I am not talking about Irish interests only. Many small countries wanted to keep the Commissioner. Could that be a reason? Black mail for change to their favour? Not just Ireland, but many behind it. Ireland was just being used, as it was anyway by british and american agents anyway. British owned media played a huge role in the NO campaign, and their success in the first referendum. So was the iIrish decision, really " Irish" in both cases? And what about this multiculturalism thing? In Belgium I have friends telling me stories about immigrants that make me wonder. Here in Ireland where I work, I see and hear what is going on. Friends from Britain, Greece and Germany tell me the same. Are we paying too much for the luxury of being multicultural? Because when 80% of Africans in Ireland being unemployed are able to live on benefits, there is definitely something going wrong. Are we paying those people to live in our countries, simply because it is "cool" to be multicultural? Or simply some order our leaders to create this multicultural mess? States that do not comply are being black listed...The Baltic, Greece, Eastern European states mostly, that do not share the old Europe's views on immigration. I do not oppose immigration or multiculturalism, but I would imagine that those people who come, and they are welcome by me here, would actually work and be needed as they tell us, because of the population decline and blah blah blah. But it seems some are here just to be here. Why sould I pay for some to be in Europe, while I am not given the chance to have social housing for free? I am not rich either I have to work hard for my living and my taxes should go where I need them most. Health care, education. living standards. But from my poit of view they go to corrupt leaders of third world countries to keep those countries low and poor, so that our leaders and our elit can be rich and powerful for ever more. Or am I wrong? How "free" are we really? Do we have a real democracy in this world? Because if democracy is what the Americans are spreading by force, then something smells really fowl. by Christos Mouzeviris IGN's correspondent in Dublin, Ireland
